Cookie Policy

1. Who we are

This Cookie Policy explains how cookies and similar technologies are used on bostoncone.com (the “Site”). The Site is operated by Made Brave Ltd, a company registered in Scotland (company number SC414313) with its registered office at The Social Hub, 15 Candleriggs Square, Glasgow G1 1TQ, United Kingdom. Questions? Email traffic@madebrave.com.

This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal information more generally.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site work properly (for example, remembering what's in your basket), and they can help site owners understand how their site is used. Similar technologies, such as pixels and local storage, work in comparable ways — we use the word “cookies” to cover all of them.

Some cookies are “first-party” (set by the Site) and some are “third-party” (set by other services we use, such as our ecommerce platform or embedded social media content).

3. The cookies we use

The Site is built on Shopify, which sets the cookies needed to run the store. We group cookies into three categories:

Strictly necessary cookies

These are essential for the Site to work — they power the basket, checkout, security and fraud prevention, and your region and currency selection. They can't be switched off through our cookie banner because the store wouldn't function without them. Examples include:

Performance and analytics cookies

These help us understand how people use the Site — which pages are popular, how visitors find us, and where things could work better. The information is aggregated and used to improve the Site. These cookies are only set with your consent. Examples include:

Marketing and social media cookies

Parts of the Site embed content from social media platforms — for example Instagram posts telling the story of the cone. When these embeds load, the platform may set its own cookies and collect information about your visit, particularly if you're logged in to that platform. These cookies are only loaded with your consent. The platforms' own policies apply:

Instagram / Meta — embedded posts and reels, and links to our Facebook group

TikTok and LinkedIn — linked profiles

JustGiving — our donation page (cookies are set on JustGiving's own site when you visit it)

Queclink / Finder Portal — the live cone tracker, embedded from a third-party tracking service

4. Your choices

When you first visit the Site you'll see a cookie banner where you can accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can change your mind at any time using the cookie preferences link on the Site.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings — including blocking or deleting them. Bear in mind that blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop parts of the Site working, including the basket and checkout. Your browser's help pages explain how, and guidance for the most common browsers is available at allaboutcookies.org.

5. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time — for example if we add new tools to the Site. The current version, with its date, will always be published on this page.

6. Contact

If you have questions about cookies on the Site, contact us at traffic@madebrave.com, or write to Made Brave Ltd, The Social Hub, 15 Candleriggs Square, Glasgow G1 1TQ, United Kingdom.
